A Little More About Us…
As engineers by trade we design our brake cooling systems to exacting standards that are not found in other kits. We start by modeling the vehicles suspension and braking components, and then we set about designing a brake cooling system that integrates to your vehicle as if it were a factory option. We utilize SolidWorks 3D CAD software for all of our design work.
Why Cool My Street Car’s Brakes?
As automobile braking technology advances and brake systems get larger they have the ability to generate more heat. This heat can cause premature wear of your brake system’s components. From scorched brake fluid to warped rotors, the damage caused by overheating your vehicle’s brakes can be costly.
But My Car has Brake Cooling Ducts from the Factory…
Yes it’s true, many cars are now coming equipped with brake cooling provisions already built in. However these “brake cooling” ducts are often just openings in the front bumper or fascia designed to direct air into the wheel well area in general. While this does indeed help to cool your car’s brakes, it is incredibly inefficient and in some cases ineffective.
Quantum’s kit begins where the factory left off and takes the air from the front bumper and directs it right to the center of your brake rotor. This method of brake cooling has been utilized in road racing for decades. Until now it has been fairly impractical to install this type of system on streetcars, because the type of hose used to get the air to the rotor will wear easily if a vehicle’s suspension is not designed with provisions for it. But Quantum changes all of that.
Why are Quantum’s Kits better than the Competition?
Along with our superior design, our kits come with a unique hose that can stand up to the rigors of everyday driving. Other kits utilize the racing style hose and are prone to premature wear and tearing caused by interference with the vehicle’s suspension. Our hose is equipped with a heavy external wire so that the wire rubs the suspension and not the fabric. This external wire protects the fabric keeping the air flowing to the center of the rotor even under the harshest driving conditions.
